The “International Youth Summit Against the Genocide in Palestine”, organised by WAYU, was held online on Sunday 16 November 2025, with the participation of 25 anti-imperialist youth organisations from 20 different countries.

Moderated by WAYU General Secretary Taha Küçükuygun, the summit declared unshakeable solidarity with the resistance of the Palestinian people, and underlined that the struggle now reaches beyond the genocide into a global fight for justice and accountability. A broad front — from governing parties in Brazil and Namibia to opposition movements in the United States and Germany — affirmed the goal of a “fully sovereign Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital”.

The summit emphasised that Zionist attacks have continued without interruption despite the so-called ceasefire, which the occupying power has violated repeatedly, and condemned the genocide carried out by Israel with US and Western support. With more than 68,000 martyrs and over 10,000 missing, participants said this barbarity is a wound in the conscience of humanity that will not close.

The political backbone of the summit

The most strategic emphasis in the final declaration and in the speeches was the assessment that the imperialist project directed at West Asia and the Eastern Mediterranean rests on a three-legged strategy of attack and division.

Among the summit’s decisions were the establishment of regional WAYU committees to coordinate work against sanctions and embargoes across West Asia, Africa and the Americas, and the formation of a Global Palestine Youth Coalition under the WAYU umbrella, bringing together student unions worldwide.
