We commemorate Fidel Castro, the great leader of the Cuban Revolution, on the 100th anniversary of his birth with the revolutionary enthusiasm of the world’s anti-imperialist youth. Through his historical struggle stretching from Moncada to the Sierra Maestra, and from the 1959 Victory to the Bay of Pigs, Fidel proved to the whole world that US imperialism can be defeated.
By elevating José Martí’s torch of independence through revolution, he became the shared banner against imperialism for oppressed peoples from Cuba to Africa and West Asia. Today, the firm stance displayed by the Cuban people against the US blockade serves as the greatest source of inspiration for the WAYU and for all the world’s youth fighting for independence.
This determination, unyielding to imperialist sieges, continues to illuminate the shared future of humanity. We salute the legacy of Fidel Castro and reaffirm our steadfast solidarity with the Communist Party of Cuba, its youth, and the brotherly Cuban people.
