We Will Defeat the Divisive Attempts Fuelled by Imperialism
WAYU Executive Committee statement on the mosque attack in New Zealand: "These are crimes committed not against one religious or ethnic group, but against all of humanity."
Issued byWAYU Executive Committee

The imperialist mechanism of a “clash of civilisations” continues to spread death among innocent people of the world, in the worst forms of sectarianism and ethnic separatism.
The attack in New Zealand has added a new link to the chain of massacres of ethnic and religious extremism — a chain running from the massacre carried out by the Zionist murderer Baruch Goldstein at the Ibrahimi Mosque to the massacre of Copts in Egypt by a fundamentalist group claiming to be Muslim. These are crimes committed not against one religious or ethnic group or another, but against all of humanity.
As the World Anti-Imperialist Youth Union, we condemn these heinous attacks on innocent people and worshippers, in places of worship and elsewhere. We hold imperialism — which inflames division among nations while at the same time supporting fundamentalist and extremist criminal networks — responsible for the working of this machinery of death.
The youth of the world who want peace and security will unite against such attempts to divide us regardless of our ethnic or religious identities, and will defeat the fundamentalism and extremism backed by imperialist separatism.
We extend our condolences to the relatives of the deceased and to the people of New Zealand, and wish a quick recovery to the wounded.
