Global Youth United Against Imperialist Aggression and War

The World Anti-Imperialist Youth Union (WAYU) and 38 organisations from across the world condemn the war policies, military aggression, sanctions and election interference of the United States and Israel.

Issued byWAYU on behalf of 38 organisations

We, the undersigned students and anti-imperialist movements from across the world, united under the platform of the World Anti-Imperialist Youth Union (WAYU), strongly and unequivocally condemn the war policies, military aggression, sanctions, election interference, and hate-driven rhetoric pursued by the governments of the United States and Israel.

We condemn the mass killing of civilians in Palestine, where Israeli military actions, fully backed politically, financially, and militarily by the United States, have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, including thousands of children since October 2023, widespread destruction, and the near-total obliteration of civilian infrastructure.

The systematic targeting of residential areas, schools, hospitals, and essential facilities, coupled with the blockade preventing humanitarian aid, food, medicine, and fuel from entering Gaza, constitute serious violations of international law. Humanitarian agencies report that millions of children in Gaza have been deprived of life-saving aid.

We also strongly condemn the direct interference by the United States in Iran’s affairs, including its role in instigating violent unrest on January 8–9, when foreign-backed armed rioters hijacked peaceful protests over economic grievances. This violence, encouraged by the U.S. and Israeli regimes, caused widespread destruction of public and private property and thousands of deaths and injuries, including civilians and security personnel.

Evidence confirmed that American and Israeli intelligence agencies provided funding, training, and media support to the rioters. According to Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, 3,117 people were killed, including 2,427 innocent civilians and security forces. Such actions, along with continued threats of sanctions, constitute a serious violation of Iran’s sovereignty and self-determination.

Furthermore, new threats of war are emerging, with reports of the U.S. naval vessel Abraham Lincoln arriving in the region and political rhetoric from leaders like Trump signaling potential plans to start new military conflicts. These developments intensify the risk of regional instability and global conflict.

We strongly condemn the recent military intervention by the United States in Venezuela on 3 January 2026, where U.S. armed forces entered Venezuelan territory, carried out strikes against military infrastructure, and captured and extrajudicially abducted Venezuela’s sitting president Nicolás Maduro and first lady Cilia Flores for transfer to U.S. jurisdiction. This operation constitutes a gross violation of Venezuelan sovereignty and international law and sets a dangerous precedent for the removal of elected leaders by force.

And we strongly condemn the direct interference by the United States in Iraq’s electoral process, where the Iraqi people are being pressured to select leaders aligned with U.S. political interests. Threats of sanctions against Iraq for resisting these demands constitute a serious violation of sovereignty and self-determination.

We also condemn the aggressive statements and actions by the United States regarding Greenland, where efforts to claim territory by force undermine international law and threaten global stability.

At the same time, we denounce the wider pattern of U.S. and Israeli-backed aggression and intervention, including:

  • Ongoing military escalation and attacks against Lebanon
  • Prolonged war, blockade, and humanitarian devastation in Yemen
  • Economic warfare, sanctions, and destabilization efforts against Venezuela

These acts are not isolated events. They are part of a broader imperial strategy that relies on war, sanctions, coercion, and political manipulation to suppress sovereignty, resistance, and self-determination across the Global South.

As students and youth, we categorically reject war propaganda, hate speech, and narratives that normalize occupation, genocide, sanctions, election manipulation, and collective punishment. History proves that student movements and universities have the power to challenge unjust wars and we are prepared to do so again.

We state clearly and collectively:

  • If war against Iran is initiated or escalated,
  • If aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Venezuela, or Iraq continues or intensifies,
  • If territorial aggression continues against Greenland,

Student and anti imperialist movements across the world will respond with mass mobilization across campuses and in the streets globally to oppose war and defend justice. Global student resistance will create political, moral, and social pressure against war agendas and imperial violence.

We call upon all student unions, anti imperialist organizations, and progressive movements to endorse this statement and add their signatures in global solidarity.

Stop the war
Be against imperialism,
In solidarity,

World Anti Imperialist Youth Union (WAYU)
On behalf of undersigned student organizations
